FAQ
Answers to the most common questions from action sports and specialty entertainment business owners about insurance.
Both. Standard commercial general liability covers third-party injuries (visitors, bystanders). Our specialty programs also include Participant Accident/Injury coverage — which specifically covers paying participants who get hurt during the activity. This is often excluded from generic GL policies and is critical for paintball, airsoft, axe throwing, go-karts, and other action sports.
Most businesses receive a bindable quote within 24–48 hours of submitting the quote request form. For more complex operations or multi-location businesses, allow 3–5 business days.
Very likely yes. Standard carriers often decline action sports and specialty entertainment businesses because they do not understand the exposures. We work with specialty markets who specifically write these classes of business and have analyzed the real loss data.
No. Waivers reduce risk but do not eliminate it. Courts regularly find waivers unenforceable, especially for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or in states that limit their enforceability. Proper insurance coverage is essential regardless of your waiver language.
A Business Owners Policy (BOP) bundles General Liability + Property Insurance into a single policy, typically at a discounted rate. It is ideal for smaller operations that own or lease a physical location. A standalone GL is just liability — no property coverage. For businesses with significant equipment or building exposure, a BOP or separate property policy is usually recommended.
Yes. Mobile operators have unique exposures — traveling to different venues, using temporary setups, and working with a variety of facility owners. We have programs specifically designed for mobile entertainment operators.
For most action sports operations, we recommend a minimum of $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate for General Liability. Many venue rental agreements and events will require at least $1M/$2M. We also recommend pricing a $1M or $2M Umbrella policy — the incremental cost is usually very low relative to the protection it provides.
If the vehicle is used for business purposes — transporting equipment, driving to events, client transport — your personal auto policy may not cover a claim that occurs during business use. A Commercial Auto or Hired/Non-Owned Auto endorsement is strongly recommended.
When an incident occurs, notify us as soon as possible. We will open a claim with your carrier, assign an adjuster, and advocate on your behalf throughout the process. Do not admit liability or make payments to third parties before consulting us.
Absolutely. We write seasonal operations on annual or seasonal policy periods. Seasonal policies can be structured to match your operational window and may cost less than a full 12-month policy.
